Calling all Carpenters! Sabrina Carpenter’s newest album, Short n’ Sweet, comes out August 23. Is it that sweet? I guess so. While waiting for the highly anticipated album to be released, here are some cool facts about her and the album.
1. From breakthrough actor to pop sensation

Sabrina Annlynn Carpenter, 25, first gained recognition for appearing as a guest star on NBC drama series Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Since then, she also recorded theme songs for many films. In 2014, she released her debut single, Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying, which received positive reviews from critics and a Radio Disney Music Award for Best Crush Song.
2. From Hollywood Records to Island Records
Carpenter began her music career under Disney Music Group’s Hollywood Records, where she released four albums – Eyes Wide Open, Evolution, Singular: Act I, Singular: Act II. In 2021, Carpenter moved to Universal Music Group’s Island Records, where she released her first single, Skin. The song debuted at number 48 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and became her first entry into the top 40 hits on the Billboard Global 200 chart.
3. Major success on her fifth album

In 2022, Carpenter released her first album under Island Records, Emails I Can’t Send. The album peaked at number 23 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, her highest entry on the chart to date. In 2023, Carpenter released a deluxe version which featured a final single, Feather. It peaked at number one on the US Pop Songs chart and number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making the album an even larger success.
4. Success even before the album release

Prior to announcing the release date, Carpenter has since released two smashing singles, Espresso and Please Please Please. These songs have already received praise and recognition from fans and critics alike. They even debuted at two and one respectively on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Short n’ Sweet will have 12 tracks, spanning a total of around 36 minutes. She also surprised fans on August 2 with a sneak peak of another song from the album, Slim Pickins. Currently, producers Jack Antonoff and Julian Bunetta have worked on the two singles. Who knows who else she might possibly collaborate with?
