Follow me to I Can See Your Voice live studio recording!

Our class was invited to be audience members of a live recording of I Can See Your Voice. On that night, we arrived at Mediacorp with some anticipation. Some of us had some idea how the South Korean music game show worked, some were kind of clueless. Nonetheless, as media students, my class and I were so hyped up. I even told my parents before I left for school that their daughter was going to be famous! LOL.

Once in the studio, we were greeted by friendly hosts, Joakim Gomez and Munah Bagharib. We soon saw siblings Fariz Jabba and Farah Lola, together with Gurmit Singh, Najip Ali, and Xixi Lim, who made up the panel of celebrity detectives. They were joined by celebrity contestants Jack and Rai. I managed to grab a photo with Xixi off camera! She’s so cute!

We packed into our audience seats and got ready for the night. The studio set was dazzling and with the celebrities walking around, we settled in quickly.

Each time a singer hit a high note or went off-key, the crowd’s enthusiasm reached new heights. I remember everyone around me speculating about the fake singers. It was actually pretty fun with the mystery build-up. Everyone burst out laughing, celebrating the talents and courage of the mystery singers. And of course, the celebrity detectives always add a fun twist with their humorous (and sometimes cheeky) remarks. It didn’t feel like a simple TV shoot, the crowd was laughing and cheering during every round, transforming a simple stage into a thrilling arena.

Speaking of the set, did you know there were at least 11 cameras? It was like a game of hide and seek! The cameras were all well hidden and the studio set was almost flawless. We also spoke with the team behind the game show. As a media student, this made me appreciate just how much work goes into producing each 10-episode programme. Thanks for all the hard work!
